The shape of things to come

So. Nice title huh? =) Well, I felt like writing about this summer lol.
In about a month, i'll finish high school. Describing my feelings about that would take hours, so I'm gonna leave that for when the time is actually there.

What I've been busy with today, is July =) Kriszti's visa card finally arrived, so she could book the tickets :D So it's all for real now =) =) =) =) Booking accomodation was a bit more difficult, but we managed to do it anyway lol. So my big sis arrives July 23th at 17.40... Mom also had a cool idea for my 18th birthday...it's gonna be awesome =)

Today I have broken my record of time-spend-on-msn i think. Not that that's a good thing, cause i should have been studying my ass off. Well, I'll be a good girl tomorrow and do it all then.

Now i just wanna sit down, and think of July.

Oh btw, lyrics of my fave song of the moment:

When you're close to tears remember
Some day it'll all be over
One day 'we're gonna get so high
And though it's darker than December
What's ahead is a different colour
One day 'we're gonna get so high

And at
The end of the day
We'll remember the days
We were close to the edge
And we'll wonder how we made it through
And at
The end of the day
We'll remember the way
We stayed so close to till the end
We'll remember it was me and you

'Cause we are gonna be forever you and me
You'll always keep me flying high in the sky of love

Don't you think it's time you started
Doing what we always wanted
One day 'we're gonna get so high
'Cause even the impossible is easy
When we got each other
One day 'we're gonna get so high

And at
The end of the day
We'll remember the days
We were close to the edge
And we'll wonder how we made it through
And at
The end of the day
We'll remember the way
We stayed so close to till the end
We'll remember it was me and you

'Cause we are gonna be forever you and me
You will always keep me flying high in the sky of love

High, high, high, high...

(Lighthouse Family - High)

So beautiful... =)

Big thank you goes to Ilke for sending it to me :)

Barcelona - part two

Note: I do not expect anyone to read this lol. The main reason I wrote this is for myself, just cause I like to hold on to the memory. So don't feel guilty if you don't feel like reading this essay. I won't be mad at ya :p

Oh yeah: pictures will follow tomorrow, cause i really gotta start some schoolwork now.

So the story continues:

Monday morning we got up at 7, had breakfast in the hotel, and then got on the bus, which brought us to the centre of Barcelona, for a “city-rally”. We walked around, solving questions about various buildings, streets, etc… Then at 1 in the afernoon, we had an hour and a half to have lunch in Barcelona, on our own. At 14.30, the buses would pick us up at a museum. If we were late, they wouldnt wait, and we’d have to get to the next spot ourselves.

Just when we were looking for somewhere to have lunch, I got something in my eye that hurt like hell. I was lucky that we had Joy with us, a girl who knew Barcelona quite well, and showed me the way to the nearest toilets. Then when we finally had lunch, the waitress understood our order wrong, and we had to wait even longer for her to bring the right stuff. Eventually we ended up eating half of our lunch on the way to the underground (or tube, whatever you wanna call it). As soon as we got out at the right stop, we ran out into the streets of Barcelona, and raced to the right museum. We arrived exactly at 14.30. Perfect timing.

Next thing to visit was the Sagrada familia. Gaudi started building this cathedral, but died before he could finish it. Now it’s being finished by someone else. It’s quite impressive to see. We went all the way up the stairs. Right behind us was one of the cutest guys I had ever seen. Really, he was soooooo hot! Too bad he left the queu and took another way…but even then, we spotted him from our position, and my friend even managed to take a picture of him. Lol!

But back on topic: the view from the top of the cathedral was very nice. On the way back down, one of my knees hurt like hell though. When we got out of the church, we decided to try and spot the hottie when he came out. Too bad Joy told us she had seen him leave at the other side. But then, when we were going back to the buses, we saw him again. We started acting so weird, screaming at Joy that we spotted him again… he must have noticed that lol. He probably thought we were completely nuts. Maybe he was right.

After the Sagrada Familia, we went to Parc Guëll. It’s a beautiful place, pictures will follow soon I hope (I didnt have my own camera with me that day, so I have to wait for others to give me their pics). After Parc Guëll we went back to the hotel to have dinner. Later that night I had to go to an IMAX-film. It took me about 8 minutes to fall asleep lol. After the movie, we had to walk back all the way down the Ramblas. There we waited about 20 minutes for a bloody bus (this is actually quite a longer story, but I can’t be bothered to write it all out). Eventually I came back at the hotel at 1.40(!) where I found out that Ellen and Ilke had been so nice to stay awake till I arrived. The other day we had to get up at 7 again… I am the kind of person who really needs a lot of sleep, and I did not get that that night. So the rest of the day was filled with tiredness. I went to see the waxwork show, which was quite nice. After that we walked to the Parc de la Ciutadella. Our teachers dropped us there, and we spend about 15 minutes trying to find the way out of the parc and get something to eat…

In the afternoon we visited the Miro-museum (which i found quite boring) and the Olympic stadion. Then after dinner in the hotel, I was supposed to go to a “flamenco-night”. But I felt so exhausted that I asked a teacher if I could stay in the hotel. Thank God he said yes. I do regret not seeing the flamenco though… But at least I got some decent sleep that night. Then after breakfast on Wednesday morning, we left for Nou Camp, the stadium of FC Barcelona :D When we were waiting to go in, lots of expensive cars arrived, and everybody was trying to see who was in it. We (well, the boys) recognised some players. We then went inside, and started the tour. Even though I passed my “football-stage”, I absolutely loved this! And guess what, when some of us were walking through a hallway, we suddenly saw Ronaldinho walking below us! Now how cool is that? hehe

After the tour I bought some stuff for my bro (who is, of course, a real football freak) and then we got back on the bus. We had dinner in the city-centre again, and after that I had to go to the aquarium. That was cool, but it got quite boring in the end. Later in the afternoon, I met again with Ilke, Ellen and Yasmine to go shopping. I bought some souvenirs for mom and grandma, and a little Barcelona handbag for myself. When we were tired of shopping, we decided to go back to the hotel… and did what I so wanted to do in Barcelona: we took a cab. Lol! Then we had dinner in the hotel, packed our stuff, and left for a late-night walk to the “Palau Nacional”. The view from there was amazing!

After the walk, we were allowed to stay in the city, as long as we were back in the hotel by 0.30. We decided quite fast to just go back to the hotel, and have a drink in the bar there.

The next day was “leaving-day” already… So after breakfast we hurried to take down our luggage, and get it on the bus (well, the boys did that for us). Then we left for Figueras, a cute Spanish town. We visited the Dali museum (quite impressive) and had dinner in nice little restaurant. After that, we got back on the bus, and went to the beach of San Margarida. We relaxed on the beach (sun, sand, see and…. palm trees!) until it was time for dinner. After dinner we had our “goodbye-party”. It was fun, some friend-who-shall-not-be-named really enjoyed the Spanish beer. Then at about 0.30 it was really time to go… We got on the bus, for an 18-hour trip back Belgium. I didn’t sleep at all during the night, but during the day the trip was okay. Then eventually, at about 19 i think, we arrived back at school, parents waiting.

The end of what had been, at least for me, a brilliant week. There were less good moments too ofcourse... but somehow, I always forget about them when I think about the good ones :)

And now somehow all thats left are... pieces of a dream. (lol i just had to get it in somewhere!)

Now it's back to school life, realising how much there is to do before the exams. How come I can't seem to make an "exam-planning" (dutch word)? Everybody does it, but I just don't seem to be able to do it. And if I do, I don't stick to it. I need some disciplin here. Help me!!!
Lol.

Barcelona - part 1

I'm back from Barcelona =) I had an awesome week, really tiring, but so much fun!
The week went by really fast. We did so much in only a few days, it's gonna take a while to write an entire report. I started today, with the first two days. The rest will follow tomorrow i hope. Enjoy, and please don't mind all the spelling mistakes I probably made. I'm still tired okay? hehe.
Oh yeah, pics coming soon too!

Here we go:

Saturday was a stressful day for me. I don’t like packing. Not at all. But with mom’s help, I eventually managed to get everything I needed in the suitcase.
Then at 4.30 in the afternoon mom prepared me some dinner, and I was ready to go. We arrived at school, me feeling quite stupid for having so much luggage for just a week. In case you wanted to know, this is what I brought: my suitcase, a backpack with food, a cushion (for sleeping in the bus), a bag (with cellphone, wallet, mp3player,…), and another bag with my bikini and a towel. I was quite relieved when I saw Ilke who had brought almost as much stuff as I had.

It took about 45 minutes for everybody to arrive and put their luggage in the buses. Then finally, at about 6.30, we left, parents waving and trying to spot their sons and daughters in the buses.

I don’t remember that much of the beginning of the trip. I do remember that my friend taught me how to solve a sudoku =) So for all you people laughing at me because I couldnt do it before: Nah! I’m smarter than you think!
Anyway, something I do remember is that I didn’t get much sleep on that bus. Neither did Ilke, and I ended up sitting between Ilke and Steve who were playing golf on their (bluetooth) cell phone.

Then the next morning at 7.30 we arrived in France, at the Pont du Gard. We ate the breakfast we had brought (squached sandwiches, yummie!) and we were allowed to swim in the (icecold) river if we wanted. Even though I had brought my bikini, I really didn’t feel like doing that lol. So we just watched the other people jumping in the water.
Then at 9 we had to get back on the bus, and we drove to Les Beaux-de-Provence. This is a little village with some kind of a medieval castle and ruins. After looking around, we had two hours left to look at the cute shops in the village and get something to eat. Then at 12 we had to get in the bus once again, for a 6-hour drive to Barcelona. I don’t really remember that much about that trip anymore either, but I do remember that it was boring. Oh, and before I forget: French toilets suck! lol

Then at 7.30 we finally arrived in Barcelona :D Our teacher gave us the key of our room, and we had half an hour before we were expected in the “dining room”. Me, Ilke and Ellen shared a room, which was very nice and, according to other people, very big. Dinner in the hotel was very good =) Then after dinner we had some more time to un-pack, and at 9.30 we went for a walk, and I got my first impression of the city: very big, and very beautiful =)

Then we got back at the hotel, had some trouble waking Ilke up (she had to open the door to let us in our room) and then finally went to bed.

To be continued ... lol =)

Rope skipping and ready for Barcelona

It's been a while since I last updated. I guess I'm just a very bad blogger. lol.
Well, this week went by quite fast.

Last Sunday, I went to the "democup" of rope-skipping. For those of you who don't know what rope-skipping is, go to http://www.rope-skipping.be . (You can change the language to English on top of the page.)
So, this "democup" is a competition in which the best teams of Flanders show off their rope-skipping skills. It's very spectacular and really cool to watch :D And of course, the fact that my cousin was in the competition too, made it even cooler :) Her team did very well, but they didn't make it to the final...

Then on Monday (day off) I just sat at home, trying to convince myself to do some Latin translation. Well, I did half of it after all.

And well, the rest of the week has been quiet.

And now... it's time to leave for Barcelona :D (well, not literally now lol). I'm quite excited about it... Just hope the weather will be nice :) I'm gonna miss my laptop (and internet connection!) a lot though. Lol. But I'll survive. It's gonna be really tiring too. But I'm really looking forward to just seeing something new and being away from home for a while.

Well... that's it I guess. Got a letter to finish now =). And then it's time to say goodbye to some people on msn :( Lol, but really, I'll only be gone for a week :)
